This community offers a broad range of options
Located along the north and west shores of Lake Tahoe, this quaint town’s commercial area is lined with shops, restaurants, a charming movie theatre, and Commons Beach, a large public beach that is the hub of the town in the summer months. For winter sports enthusiasts, Alpine Meadows and Palisades Tahoe are only five miles away and Tahoe Cross-Country center is right in town.
Stretching from Tahoe City to Rubicon Bay, Lake Tahoe’s West Shore is commonly referred to by locals as “West Shore Best Shore.” The West Shore offers some of the oldest and most historic lakefront estates with a timeless “Old Tahoe” vibe. Sunnyside, Tahoe Tavern, Fleur du Lac, Homewood, Tahoma, and Chamber’s Landing are a few of the communities that dot the West Shore. Homes are an eclectic mix of small cabins to grand estates on several hundred feet of sandy beach. Recreational opportunities abound as well, with state parks, beaches and hiking trails including Sugar Pine Point, Meeks Bay, Desolation Wilderness, Blackwood Canyon and Paige Meadows.
